What gate opening do I need for your gate?
Our gates will fit openings, like all standard farm gates. Refer to the Specifications and Availability chart (scroll up) to see if we have a size for your needs.

Are there any other types of gates available to buy?
Depending on customer feedback and demand, we will look at expanding our range size.
What is the delivery time from the date of payment?
Gate sizes in stock will be dispatched within the week. Delivery time will be dependent on your location, usually within 3-5 days after dispatch.
Is the gate galvanised on the inside and the outside?
Yes, the gate is hot dipped galvanised on the inside and outside after the gate is made. This process provides resistance to corrosion. There are no painted welds.
What size pipe is used to make the gate?
We use 25NB pipe with a wall thickness of 2.3mm.
How is the mesh welded to the pipe?
Each connection of mesh is inset welded to the pipe, to prevent edges being outside of the gate frame.
How is the pipe welded together?
All joins are fully notch welded in construction of the gate, for added strength.
What is the mesh spacing?
Mesh spacing graduates from 30mm at the bottom of the gate, to a maximum of 103mm at the upper part of the gate, with 5mm wire thickness.
What is the benefit of graduated horizontal wires (mesh) with the density at the bottom?
This type of mesh limits the opportunity for animals (particularly horses) to put their leg or other parts of their body through the bottom of the gate and is an added benefit/safety measure.
With a double hinge on your gate does it self-align when closing?
Yes, that is one of the innovative features of our gate that makes it superior to all others, it self aligns when it closes.
Do you supply latches for your gate?
As each customer’s needs are different, we allow flexibility for the customer to buy their own latches to suit their needs.
Can I just buy the additional piece to retrofit my existing gate?
We looked at this option, however it became evident that retrofitting would not be viable most customers, for example, a 3.6m (12ft) gate opening would not have the capability of being able to easily fit the additional piece and existing gate, and alterations would need to be made to the existing gate for our hinge design.
Can your gate be fitted to any post, including a concrete post?
Yes, our steel farm gate can be fitted to any type of post including concrete, wood or steel posts.
Why is your gate different to a “normal” farm gate?
Our farm gate can be centre-mounted on the gate post and can be opened back against the fence line on either side. A “normal” farm gate does not have this capability.
Is there a minimum order that I must buy?
There is no minimum order, however if you buy 10 or more in one order there is the opportunity to receive a discount.
Do I have to pay for delivery?
Yes. There is a flat fee of $50 for deliveries within 50klms of the Heatherbrae NSW depot. All other frieght is calculated at the time of purchase.
Can I pick up my gate/s from your depot?
Yes. Pick up can be discussed at the time of purchase.
Do I need to prop open the gate?
Our gate can open and be swung back on either side (both sides) to align against the fence, out of the way, thus eliminating the hassle of propping the gate open. It can be tied to the fence, if swinging closed is a concern.
Do I have to assemble the gate in any way on delivery?
No assembly of the gate is required by the customer. It will arrive in one piece for easy installation, just like any farm gate.
Do you install the gate?
We don’t provide install services but the farm gate is easy to install.
What are your payment options?
We offer direct deposit and credit card. Fees will apply on credit cards up to 2.1%. We do not accept PayPal.
Is there any ongoing maintenance required?
Essentially no, although like all moving parts, the hinge gudgeons might enjoy a little grease on occasion for ongoing, smooth, squeak-free swinging.
